The Anniston Star's daily TV pages are all moving in together at a new location on Fridays, and The Star's Escapes section will be joining them.

Beginning Friday, The Star will no longer print the daily TV schedule. Instead, your TV lineup for the entire week ahead will appear in a new tabular format each Friday.

Also, the weekly Escapes section, which covers all the happenings in local entertainment, will be moving from Thursday to be packaged in the new section on Friday.

The move allows us to put in one place all of your entertainment options — movie and TV listings, weekly DVD releases, music and movie reviews, a weekly calendar of area events, and last but not least, Dan Whisenhunt's weekly Pushing Buttons column, which reviews the latest video games and technological innovations.

We believe the easy-to-handle tab format is one you'll reach for again and again throughout the week.

"Friday is when people start planning what they want to do for the weekend," said Deirdre Long, the Star's entertainment editor.

"With the new section," she said, "readers can easily keep track of what's going on that very night — which bands are playing, the newest movie releases or the latest performance by our local theater groups. Also, most albums and DVDs are released on Tuesdays, so the tab will give them a heads-up for things to look for in the following week."
