Anniston police Monday were looking for a man who shot a Church’s Chicken manager early Saturday morning during an attempted robbery.

The manager was walking away from the store at 2129 Quintard Ave. in Anniston around 12:45 a.m., and was approached by the robber outside the store, police said.

Investigators said the two exchanged words, and an attempt to steal money from the 50-year-old victim failed. The assailant then shot the man three times, police said.

Officers said the victim went to Regional Medical Center, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the victim could not provide a detailed description of the attacker.
