I want to thank Star Senior Editor George Smith for making me feel a little closer to home.
I currently work in Iraq supporting the U.S. Marine Corps as a contractor. Everyone needs a way to stay in touch with their home, and I have The Star online to help me feel that I am still part of the town that I was born and raised in.
When I read Smith's stories and comments, it brings back memories of when I was young working for my brother at Wholesale Auto Parts or running down to Curry and Brock Auto Parts to pick up a starter for him and then taking it to Split Nickel Texaco in Lenlock and maybe going to Bill's Drive Inn or The Star or the Tavern to eat.
Mr. Smith, I have to say that you have brightened my days here and made this time away from my family a little easier. Thank you once more, and may God bless you even more than he already has.
