Anniston Star - Lions advance

Faith Christian won the Class 1A, Area 8 tournament with a 10-0 win over Talladega County-Central, a 15-13, 9-inning win over Fayetteville and a 20-10 win over Fayetteville.

Tournament MVP Sarah Burleigh pitched every inning of every game, striking out 21 batters in the three games.

Faith Christian (14-5) advance to Friday's regional round in Montgomery.
