But our governor is one of the Republican lawmakers the Obama White House and Democrats in Washington are trying to turn up the heat on regarding the expansion.
According to ThinkProgress.com, Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius is leading the charge against governors who aren't expanding the service. "Unfortunately, what I think we have in a large case is governors playing politics with people’s lives and people’s health,” Sebelius said in an interview with HuffPost Live. “There’s no reason that this return on investment isn’t a very positive thing because there’s a cost of doing nothing in those states.”
It's interesting that one Southern governor, Tennessee's Bill Haslam, also a Republican, is seeking an alternate proposal from Washington that would allow some sort of "special deal" for expansion.
