Wayne Flynt has done a marvelous job of hiding his true feelings in his op-ed about teachers. By his own words, there were seven paragraphs aimed against conservatives and then, with his lame excuse of being objective, he wrote one addressing the Alabama Education Association.
It’s worth noting that Flynt has been a part of the problem and pushes only to throw money at the issue of how to improve education. Education already consumes more than three-fourths of Alabama’s budget. Then he regurgitates the AEA mantra that the way the taxes are collected is not enough. He has been writing progressive tripe through The Star for years. That’s because he echoes The Star’s position that the rich need to pay all without the benefit of any of their taxes.
Why is it that folks like this are published on a regular basis when those opposing these issues might just get a letter once a month, if lucky? As Ricky said to Lucy, “You got some ’splaining to do.”
