NE Regional: Ramsay boys top Columbia in 5A final

Ramsay 62, Columbia 50: Tournament MVP Albert Luke scored 26 points to lead Ramsay to the Northeast Regional 5A boys title Friday in Jacksonville State University's Pete Mathews Coliseum.

Ramsay (22-13) advanced to the state semifinals and will face Central-Tuscaloosa on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the BJCC Arena. Columbia finishes 25-10.

The victory comes a year after Ramsay lost to Center Point 41-39 in overtime in the regional final.

Luke added a team-high nine rebounds to his stat line. He also hit 12 of 16 free throws, and Ramsay hit 32 of 44.

Gerrod Abram led Columbia with 13 points, and Darrion Leslie had nine points and 10 rebounds. The Eagles made 14 of 29 free throws and shot just 28.9 percent from the field.
