Spring Garden (24-4) limited Cedar Bluff to two points in the second quarter and three in the third and led 39-13 after three quarters. Panthers’ coach Ricky Austin credited really good team defense from his team’s point zone with limiting Cedar Bluff’s shots.
“Our full court zone press was really effective, too,” Austin said.
Much of Spring Garden’s offense came from post players Tykeah Rogers and Haley Motes. Rogers finished with 14 points and Motes scored 12 points. Kati McGinnis led Cedar Bluff with 11 points, six in the first quarter.
