I would like to send a special thank you to some new friends I met on Tuesday morning of last week.

Like many other unfortunate souls, I got stranded in Lineville with my 84-year-old mother-in-law. It was a serious situation and I quickly realized Jeanette could not spend a night in the car. I told her our best chance was to see if someone would take us in for the night.

My first stop was the home of Thiril and Jo Craven on Alabama 9. They didn’t know us from Adam, but took one look and said come on in. They provided a warm bed, clean sheets, towels and several warm meals. They both also put a pretty good spanking to me on dominos. They were prepared to keep us again Wednesday night, but Alabama 9 improved enough for us to make it back to Heflin.

To the Cravens, thanks again and God Bless.
