Belmont uses late run to top Gamecocks

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Craig Bradshaw scored 18 points and J.J. Mann added 16 for Belmont as the Bruins shot over 60 percent from the floor to beat Jacksonville State 78-67 on Thursday night.

Blake Jenkins scored 12 points and Evan Bradds and Drew Windler both added 10 for Belmont (9-6, 1-0 Ohio Valley Conference).

The Bruins shot 63.8 percent from the floor (30 of 47) and made 7 of 11 from behind the 3-point arc. Jacksonville State shot 25 of 55 from the floor and 5 of 17 on 3-pointers.

Darion Rackley led the Gamecocks with 15 points, and scored eight of those at the free-throw line.

Jacksonville State (7-10, 1-1 OVC) led by two points at the break, and was ahead by one point with 16 minutes remaining. Belmont went on a 9-0 run with 13:22 to play — after leading by one — to go up by 10 points.
