Their career would span the next forty years and include 42 number one songs and numerous awards including induction to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2006.
In April, 2013, Alabama began their “Back to the Bowery tour” to honor their forty years in the music industry. The tour ended in Birmingham in November.
The town of Ft. Payne erected these life-size bronzes of all the group members in appreciation for all they have done for their hometown.
Also in town is the Alabama Fan Club and Museum that traces the career of the group and houses many of their personal items including outfits, awards, gold and platinum records. It is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
