Royal baby mania is at a fever pitch. If you haven't heard - as if! - it's a boy

Looking for something completely different? Try this segment from NPR's On the Media program. Host Bob Garfield went to London to examine what's driving all the breathless coverage of William and Kate's first child. The answer was surprising. Turns out its coming from the United States, not Britain.

Rupert Adams, spokesman for the Britain's William Hill Betting Parlour, "has done between 100 and 200 media interviews, the vast majority not by local reporters, but media outlets back in the USA," Garfield reports.

Says Adams, "It’s 100-to-1. There is no hope that any country will be inquiring about the royal baby more than the U.S. of A."

Don't miss the entire segment, including the shocking lengths Barbara Walters went to get the "story."
