BSA Troop 206 held a Court of Honor to present scout rank advancement and other awards earned during the year. Robert Jackson, Scoutmaster of the 2013 National Jamboree troop, gave a presentation regarding the National Jamboree and offering scouts the opportunity to sigh-up for the upcoming Jamboree. This will be inaugural event for the newest National Scout Adventure Camp at Bechtel Summit in West Virginia. Troop 206 Scoutmaster, Jerry McCollough described the troops events for the coming year with the highlight being summer camp in Mentone, the third week of June. Asst. Scoutmaster Gary Wright presented a program on the troop’s fundraising activities through a history of the troop’s involvement with the Talladega Superspeedway. Three new scouts joined the troop as the season to recruit new scouts is underway. The Troop 206 welcome boys from the age of eleven to check out a few troop meetings to see if outdoor skills and adventure is right for them. Meetings are Monday nights from 7-8 p.m.
