Anniston police this morning were investigating a theft on the 1300 block of Robertson Road, where prescription pills and a handgun were reported stolen Monday evening.

The victim invited a woman he was acquainted with and her friend to his home, Anniston police Capt. Allen George said.

The victim told police he gave the women money to buy groceries. He then left the two women alone in the house while he went out, the captain said.

According to George, the victim returned home to find his handgun and three pill bottles had been taken.

George said the victim decided later in the week to press charges against the suspects. The suspects will face felony charges of second-degree theft.
