Saturday’s tee times will flip today starting at 7:30 a.m. The championship flight leaders are scheduled to go off at 11:10.
“We called it today and I don’t know if we’ll play tomorrow,” ACC pro Kevin Daugherty said. “We need to get a round in.”
Daugherty said he remembered one year losing the Sunday round to weather, but two rounds of championship flight and one tournament players round was played.
He said there has been no discussion about resuming the event later in the season if they can’t play today.
Ott Chandler shot the day’s lowest round on Friday, a 3-under-par 67. He held a one-shot lead over former Samford golfer and 2012 Alabama Match Play champion Casey O’Toole and two over Jeff Champion and Freeman Fite.
Chandler won the Calhoun County Golf Tour season opener at Cider Ridge.
“We just couldn’t do it today,” Chandler said. “I think everybody’s disappointed. There were probably 30 guys ready to play when I got here. Everybody wanted to play; unfortunately, Mother Nature ruined our day.
“Absolutely I want to play. I think I’ve led after the first day six or eight times and after the second day a couple, but never have won it. I’d like to give it a chance to see if I can hold on.”
