Jacquelyn Buffington Mooney and Burgett Hamilton Mooney III announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Burgett Mooney of Atlanta, Ga., to Jonathan Skye Wellesley of Atlanta, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sean Richard Wellesley of Jacksonville.

The bride-elect is the sister of Mary Jacquelyn Mooney Harris of Carbondale, Colo., and Sarah Hamilton Mooney of Atlanta. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Burgett Hamilton Mooney Jr.; the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Armstrong Harrison Jr. and the late William Kenneth Buffington.

Miss Mooney is a 2000 graduate of Darlington School and a 2004 graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and was a 2001 Rome Symphony Debutante. In 2012 she received a master’s degree in business administration from Georgia Institute of Technology and is employed as a management consultant with The North Highland Company in Atlanta.

The groom-elect is the brother of Miles Gerald Valerian Wellesley of Boston, Mass., and Anthea Alyse Wellesley Savage of Sterrett. He is the grandson of Mrs. Dean Edwards of York, Pa.; the late Mr. Dean Edwards, the late Caroline Harris Edwards and the late Lt. Col. and Mrs. Thomas Wilfred Wellesley-Miller.

He is a 2000 graduate of Darlington School, and a 2004 graduate of Presbyterian College with dual degrees, a bachelor of science degree in political science and a bachelor of arts degree in history. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. In 2008, he received his juris doctorate, cum laude, from Tulane University Law School. He is an attorney with Waldon Adelman Castilla Hiestand & Prout in Atlanta.

The wedding is planned for June 15, 2013, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Rome.
