TUSCALOOSA — Frank Brady and Matt Rogers missed the cut to play on the weekend at the State Four-Ball Championship. They made a par on the first extra hole to fall out of a four-team playoff for the final two spots in match play.

The two Anniston golfers birdied each of their last two holes at NorthRiver Yacht Club just to get into the playoff. They shot a final-round 69 and finished regulation at 6-under 136.

Brady fired at the pin with a 6-iron in heavy wind around water and made a bounce-back birdie on No. 17. On No. 18, Rogers hit a 5-wood from 180 yards uphill into the wind to three feet and made his birdie.

The other local team in the field, Jeremy McGatha and Jaylon Ellison, shot a final-round 69 and missed the cut by three shots.
