Kaylann Nicole Penny, a 2012 graduate of Jacksonville High School and freshman at Wallace State Junior College in Hanceville, was recently inducted into the Alpha Chi Tau Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. Students who earn a 3.5 grade point average for 12 or more hours are invited to join.

Phi Theta Kappa is the largest honor society in American higher education with more than 1.5 million members. Wallace State’s chapter is a Five Star chapter, the highest program level recognized by Phi Theta Kappa.

Penny attends Wallace State on a volleyball scholarship where she is a member of the Lady Lions. She is studying to be a physical therapist. She is the daughter of Norma Penny of Jacksonville and Trent Penny of Piedmont.
