After winning twice in Monday's initial rounds, they came back today and beat Montgomery Academy's Gretchen Lee and Lee Ellen Bryan 6-4, 7-5 in the semifinals and Montgomery Academy's Kaitlyn Mohlenbrok and Emily Stanley 6-1, 6-1 in the finals.
Montgomery Academy won the remaining two doubles titles and four of six singles championships. That gave Montgomery Academy the 1A-3A girls championship with 72 points under a scoring system that gives two points for every singles victory and three for doubles wins.
Donoho placed sixth with 21 points, including 12 from the Woodfin/Fink team. Houston Academy (48) was second, followed by Deshler (37), American Christian (26) and Madison Academy (24).
In the boys division, Faith Christian placed eighth with 11 points. The only Faith player in action Tuesday was Ryan Crosby at No. 2 singles. He lost his semifinal match to Bayside Academy's Jay Caldwell 6-1, 6-1.
Montgomery Academy took the boys title with 67 points, followed by Trinity Presbyterian (51), Bayside Academy (46), Decatur Heritage (25), Altamont (16), Fayette County (16) and Madison Academy (12).
