Alabama's Equal Justice Initiative was featured on last weekend's editions of the PBS program Moyers & Company. Bryan Stevenson, the EJI's executive director was a guest on the show. The topic was equal justice under the law.

As Stevenson put it, "Sadly, we still have a system that treats you better if you’re rich and guilty then if you’re poor and innocent."

The subject is one covered by The Star. In 2012, we wrote, Changes to how Alabama runs indigent defense spark debate, and this February we followed up with No savings yet from Alabama's reform of its indigent defense payment system.
