Sgt. Chris Sparks said representatives from a business on the 1100 block of South Quintard Avenue told police Tuesday the suspect stole payments customers made to the company. The suspect is no longer employed by the business, Sparks said.
The suspect stole $2,272.30 between Aug. 7, 2012 and Feb. 7, according to a police report.
Sparks said the theft was discovered when staff members of the business looked at accounting figures.
Police are still investigating the incident, Sparks said, but a suspect has been named.
A suspect will likely face second-degree theft charges, a felony, the sergeant said.
