Sgt. Chris Sparks said a relative of the 15-year-old and 11-year-old brothers allowed them to ride around Saks with the trunk open and their legs hanging out the back. Sparks said police pulled the car over near 44th Street and Skyline Drive. The sergeant said a 51-year-old Jacksonville man was driving the car.
Sparks said the Department of Human Resources was notified of the incident and the boys were released into the custody of their parents. Sparks was uncertain of how the boys and the driver were related. The incident is still under investigation, he said.
The suspect is likely to be charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, the sergeant said.
