Holmes’ dramatic shot followed a 3-pointer by Ray Harris to give Ashville an 84-83 lead with 10 seconds left.
Pisgah (19-10) will play Holly Pond (25-5) in Saturday’s 2:15 p.m. final in Jacksonville State University’s Pete Mathews Coliseum.
Ashville had one last attempt but had to throw the ball the length of the court. The pass was intercepted in front of Ashville’s bench.
Holmes finished with 39 points on 13-for-21 shooting, including 4-for-7 shooting behind the 3-point arc. He hit all nine of his free throws.
Dillon DeMarco added 13 points and Hunter Gant 13.
Damien Bothwell led Ashville (19-12) with 23 points. Darryl Weeks added 17, and Harris and Marcellus Brown added 10 apiece.
Ashville committed 30 turnovers, and Pisgah enjoyed a 36-22 edge in points off turnovers to overcome Ashville’s 52-36 rebounding edge.
