Many twice-born aspiring immortalists seem to have abandoned the defined essence (Hebrews 11:1) of their belief system (uncertainty, doubt). Believers in an afterlife, driven by an overwhelming emotional need blind to the consequences for future generations and the competition for limited resources, dismiss global warming as a hoax.
Planet Earth is now home to 7-plus billion human creatures (officially, Oct. 31, 2011), up from 2 billion in 1930, and our spacecraft is getting hotter. Any hope of avoiding a vast calamity should envision a benevolent and dramatic decrease in human fecundity rates.
Belief in an afterlife, instead of being a harmless delusion, is often a potent weapon with lethal consequences.
