Re “State senator supporting drug for infants” (News article, Jan. 25):
I take exception to The Star’s lead story on Jan. 25 written by Patrick McCreless. The headline reads, “State senator supporting drug for infants.” O.K., but the smaller headline states, “Drug’s maker gave $500 to his campaign.”
The implication is that Sen. Gerald Dial has sold his soul for $500. I’ve known Mr. Dial for many years and know him as an honorable man.
When the fourth estate, the public press, skews the facts this blatantly, it is a wonder that anyone would volunteer to run for public office.
