The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Vaughn and Betty Gaddis of Carrollton, Ga., and Martha Connell of Anniston and the late Ed Connell.
Miss Connell is a graduate of White Plains High School and Jacksonville State University. She is employed as an anchor/reporter for WGCL-TV.
The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Alfonso and Martina Cortijo, formerly of Guayama, Puerto Rico and the late Dana and Janna Evans, formerly of Danburg, Ga.
Major Evans is a graduate of Hillcrest High School and The Citadel. He is employed as a pilot with the U.S. Air Force.
The wedding will be May 31, 2013, in Jekyll Island, Ga.
