Case in point: the Anniston Aquatic and Fitness Center.
The city spent $4.5 million to turn the fort’s former Miller Gym into a first-class facility highlighted by its swimming pool. It opened last April.
This week, the Alabama Recreation and Parks Association hit the city with dual accolades: It named the aquatic center and Anniston’s Parks and Recreations Department the best in the state.
That’s quite an accommodation.
McClellan’s future hinges on smart, consistent and planned growth. The aquatics center is proof that if the city invests its money well, McClellan’s potential is limitless.
Now, on to the city’s next success.
