Although tragic, we cannot let terrorist acts — and this was an act of terror — by a very small minority dictate the laws of this country as has been the norm for the last three or four decades.
With all that has happened in Connecticut, a very important incident in Heflin and Oxford has been downplayed.

My point being, no matter what laws are in place, as these two incidents and the ban of assault-type weapons of the 1990s show, and not enforced, people like these will always find a way to carry out their acts of terror.
This is one of the reasons for Alabama’s new illegal immigration law. But even as tough as it is, Roberto Romero Moya was able to come back.
Did our new law prevent it? No. He found a way, just as Adam Lanza would have found a way to carry out his act of terror.
I end with this question: What has happened to majority rule? Are we heading down the path of South Africa of the ’80s, where the few dictate to the many?
