The third annual Comfort Foundation 5K run/walk was held Nov. 10 at McClellan to raise money to support the work of the CPT Kyle Comfort Foundation. The foundation provides funds and gifts to wounded service members and their families during the recovery and rehabilitation process. The event attracted more than 400 participants, almost twice what previous events had attracted.

The run was preceded by an inspirational invocation by Dr. (Rev.) Roland Brown of Golden Springs Baptist Church. Probate Judge Alice Martin sang the National Anthem. The race was started by local hero, Marine Sgt. Ben Tomlinson.
