Why not keep people who are mentally ill from roaming the streets when they should be under close supervision from competent people trained to care for and help these people before they do others a lot of damage?
I haven’t heard of any control over chainsaws, yet what about the Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Almost anything can be used as a weapon. A weapon usually becomes deadly when placed in the hands of a mentally incompetent person. Give the mentally ill people the treatment they so desperately need and deserve and most, if not all, of these shootings will stop.
