Several area restaurants are featured in “Alabama Food,” a colorful 128-page book produced in cooperation with the Alabama Tourism Department.

Dishes featured include Goal Post Bar-B-Q’s barbecue; Classic on Noble’s shrimp and grits; Garfrerick’s pecan encrusted grouper and the Victoria Restaurant’s chocolate molten cake. The peanut butter cake at R & B Barbeque in Lincoln is also featured.

The book is based on the popular “100 Dishes to Eat in Alabama Before You Die” brochure and emphasizes unique and original Alabama restaurants, the growth of the farm-to-table movement and native Alabama foods.

It goes on sale Dec. 3 at Books-A-Million stores and online at www.bhamstore.com and Amazon.com.
