Juandarius Kelley, formerly of Munford, was recently selected for membership into the National Society of High School Scholars. He is the son of Rony and Elaine Moon Kelley of Hinesville, Ga. The society recognizes top scholars and only students who have achieved academic excellence are invited to join.

Kelley is a member of the JROTC and the rifle drill team and commander of the Honor Guard. He has received honors that include graduating from Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps and working with the St. Jude Fundraising program. In a commissioning ceremony in September, his mother had the honor of pinning on him the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. He plans to attend college and later join the U.S. Air Force or Navy.

Kelley also received an invitation from the People to People Ambassador Program to study in France, Italy and Greece in the summer of 2013 as a Student Ambassador.
