As a businesswoman, she will be able to relate to and recruit much-needed businesses. This brings tax dollars and jobs to Anniston, where they are needed. As a retired educator earning many awards, including Department of Defense Teacher of the Year, she has the knowledge and ability to work with the schools and school board to improve our schools and help our students get the most opportunities for a good education. Millie has long been active in community and civic activities. She is on the Anniston Planning Commission and is a progressive and passionate supporter of many local organizations, including the American Cancer Society, Spirit of Anniston, Knox Concert Series, Museum of Natural History and many animal welfare groups.
We need a strong, independent and compassionate woman on the City Council. That woman is Millie Harris. Vote for her on Tuesday.
