With Anniston’s Ward 2 and Ward 4 City Council seats still up for grabs, The Anniston Star is giving residents an opportunity to quiz the candidates online before the runoff election on Oct. 9.

The Star is hosting a series of four live-chats. Millie Harris, candidate for Ward 4, and David Reddick, candidate for Ward 2, took questions from readers last week. This week on Wednesday, Ward 2 candidate Sheffton Goodson will take his turn in the online forums, and on Thursday, Ward 4 candidate Marcus Dunn will answer readers' questions. Each chat will last about an hour.

“We are excited to host these online live-chats,” said Bob Davis, associate publisher. “In our view, these digital forums allow voters to directly ask questions of the candidates, and for the candidates to respond.”

Anyone interested in taking part can access the chats at according to the schedule. The chats will also be viewable in the remaining days before the election.

Questions can be submitted at by clicking on the name of the candidate either in advance or during the chat.

Live-chat schedule:

Sheffton Goodson, Ward 2 candidate, Oct. 3

Marcus Dunn, Ward 4 candidate, Oct. 4

All chats will begin at noon.
