Police today are investigating a Sunday-morning armed robbery at a doughnut shop on Quintard Avenue.

Two employees at OMG Donuts told police a man with a black handgun entered the store through an open door located in the back around 9 a.m. Sunday and demanded money, said Anniston police Sgt. Josh Doggrell. The suspect took money from the cash register as well as a purse belonging to one of the employees and left on foot. No one else was in the store at the time of the robbery, Doggrell said.

No shots were fired and no one was injured, according to the police report.

Doggrell said police at the scene got a description of the suspect from the employees. Investigators hope to collect physical evidence and establish other witnesses who could have information, he said.
