As SAVE’s president, Millie knows how to move an organization forward. She solicits input from board members, values their ideas, sets goals, sticks to an agenda and never wastes time. She is willing to roll up her sleeves and work hard. Whether it’s below-freezing temperatures, torrential rain or scorching heat, Millie can be found at Pickett’s at 7 a.m. twice monthly, greeting pet owners, completing paperwork and loading heavy carriers of dogs and cats or working at numerous other area events, spreading the word.
SAVE’s Cupcakes for Critters is another project in which she and her husband have opened their lovely award-winning garden for the past three years to benefit Calhoun County’s pets. She has demonstrated the courage to be the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves, recently addressing the Sunset Committee at the State House in Montgomery on behalf of the Alabama Spay Neuter Clinic. Millie has spoken to numerous other civic and animal welfare groups, as well as governmental agencies on behalf of humane treatment.
Millie is a “doer” who is also ready to give it her all for Anniston to serve on the City Council for Ward 4. Please help turn our town around by giving her the opportunity, and vote for her on Oct. 9.
