Jacksonville Mayor Johnny Smith recently signed a proclamation, written by YWTSA Inc., (Youth Working Together for a “Speedy” Awareness Inc.), proclaiming Oct. 6 as Anthony Odell ‘Speedy’ Cannon Day. A day to remember the life and legacy of an athlete and gentleman who made his last 31 yard run of his life for Jacksonville High School 40 years ago.
