Altrusa International of Anniston recently hosted a luncheon at Classic on Noble to honor Marti Warren. She was inducted into the Alabama Senior Citizens Hall of Fame Aug. 5 in Montgomery. Seniors are inducted into the Senior Citizens Hall of Fame for their outstanding service, achievements and valuable contributions into the lives of others.

Warren has served as president of Steel Magnolias Breast Cancer Support Group for nine years; president of Golden K Kiwanis Club of Oxford; member of the RSVP of Calhoun County; was director of the Pinks Boutique; director of Ms. Senior Calhoun County pageants for 1996-2000; was Ms. Senior Calhoun County 1996 and first-runner up to Ms. Senior Alabama for 1997 and she received the East Alabama Cerebral Palsy Center ‘volunteer of the year’ award in 1999. She is the organist and choirmaster of the Church of the Covenant and lives in Anniston with her husband of 60 years, Otis ‘Pokey’ Warren. They have five daughters, 19 foster teenagers, 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
