Lana Elizabeth Bell was selected as the recipient of the Jacksonville Progressive Study Club Yearbook scholarship for 2012. Lana is a recent graduate of Jacksonville High School and is the daughter of Lori and Kenny Bell. She will attend the University of Alabama in the fall and plans to major in pre-law. At Jacksonville High School, she was a member of the varsity volleyball team, the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Key Club and was vice-president of the Youth in Government and a member of the DD Club.

The yearbook scholarship was given to the JPSC by the University of Alabama under the direction of the Alabama Federation of Women's Clubs. Yearbooks are judged by the university and the four winners across the state are entitled to name one scholarship recipient. Vice-president, Margarett Austin, is responsible for making the yearbook and submitting it to the University of Alabama. This is the second year that the club yearbook has been judged as winner of such an award.

The JPSC was federated in 1935 as a part of the Alabama Federation of Women's Clubs; the AFWC is a service organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.
