Alabama recruit booked for second degree felony rape, sodomy

Alabama commitment Deon Johnson has been booked for second degree felony rape and sodomy, according to the Baldwin County Sherriff's office website.

Johnson is a 6-foot-1, 183-pound Spanish Fort High receiver who is rated the 13th best player in the state by Rivals.com.

The 18-year-old was booked into the Baldwin County Corrections Center on Thursday at 8:43 p.m., according to the website. His bond is $20,000, and the website shows his status as "released."

The charges were made by the Daphne Police Department.

Lieutenant Jud Beedy told WALA-TV of Mobile the victim was a juvenile and the alleged crime happened in the Daphne police jurisdiction.
