America is in our hands

Well, citizens, are you tired, disgusted or just tuned out and turned off with the ongoing race for the presidency? In a previous Speak Out letter, I mentioned the circus aspect of the process. Local elections are a sideshow in comparison to the Barnum and Bailey extravaganza we are witness to at every turn of our lives.

In the meantime, the economy is tanking, our alleged ally Afghanistan is a killing field for NATO’s troops and ours, crime across the United States is at an all-time high, teachers are severely hampered in their profession due to restrictions via the federal government, political correctness abounds, and the beat goes on ad infinitum.

The problem is the beat is not music that soothes the savage beast but just a drum beat and, may I add, a negative one. Look not to the politicians in Washington who pass laws and then  exempt themselves from those laws that are distasteful to them but not to the people who pay their salaries. Look not to them for a prescription to stop the erosion of America’s principles. Look to yourselves before time runs out, taking with it all the good, positive, decent, honest belief in God and country, traits that made this the greatest nation on earth.

Do the right thing, and I emphasize right, because turning left against oncoming traffic has always been a great risk.
