This was the best article on guns I have read in The Star. I agree with it 100 percent.
I have a 12-gauge single-shot shotgun I’ve had since the age of 6. I hunted alone at the age of 6. That was 61 years ago. I hunted in the swamps and orange groves in Florida no less than two miles from the nearest home. I also am 100 percent against anyone except the military and police having assault weapons. And when the guns are retired, they should be totally destroyed — no auctions or donations to clubs, etc.
I am not against gun ownership, just assault weapons. I am 100 percent for a 20-year minimum sentence for a crime, any crime, committed with a gun, even a BB gun. This includes juveniles. No parole or probation. Day for day.
