Harris consistently gives it her all, whether it’s grant writing for the Knox Concert Series to enable underserved youngsters to attend classical performances, and preparing students for symphonies and ballets; winning national acclaim for exemplary teaching; raising unprecedented donations to the American Cancer Society as its 2007 Gala co-chair; championing humane treatment of animals through local and statewide efforts; supporting McClellan’s Overlay Redevelopment Plan while serving on the Planning Commission; securing LaGarde Apartments a place on the State Historical Register; or working tirelessly for her family business, which started in her living room 25 years ago.
She does her homework, researching the issues, gets along well with others and “walks the talk.” Millie is available full-time to bring Anniston back to the “Model City” we all know it can be, and she would lend much-needed diversity and collaboration to the City Council.
Please join me in electing Millie Harris for Anniston’s City Council Ward 4 on Aug. 28.
