Lynn and Sam Smith of Oxford and Woody and Cindy Adcock of Anniston announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Elizabeth Adcock, to Brenton William Young, son of Bill and Susan Young of Oxford.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Lemmie Lowe of Montgomery and the late Hubert Lowe and Jim Adcock of Anniston and the late Judy Adcock.

Miss Adcock is a graduate of Oxford High School; Jacksonville State University and the University of Alabama School of Law. She plans to take the Alabama Bar exam at the end of July.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late J.R. and Melba Grizzard, formerly of Oxford, and the late James Earl and Romona Young, formerly of Anniston.

Mr. Young is a graduate of Oxford High School and Jacksonville State University. He is employed by Grizzard Living Aids.

The wedding will be Aug. 11 at First Baptist Church of Oxford.
