Steven Ray Tucker, 19, of Anniston, was charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of criminal mischief and attempted burglary for allegedly breaking into Bearcat Express, Victory Fuels and Weaver Hardware and attempting to break into Weaver Grocery in downtown Weaver on July 7. Earlier this week police arrested Joseph Lee Grubbs, 21, also of Anniston, with the same charges. Copper wiring from air conditioning units was taken from Bearcat Express and Victory Fuels, while various hardware items were stolen from Weaver Hardware.
Additionally, the press release said both men have been charged in three additional crimes dating back to January. The two are alleged to have burglarized and stolen copper wiring from a vacant mobile home on Cedar Spring Road in March, stolen a Chevy truck from another home on Cedar Springs Road in January, broken into a vehicle on Bonnie Drive and stolen two Playstation video games earlier this month.
Tucker and Grubbs were being held at the Calhoun County Jail on Friday morning. Tucker’s bond was set at $76,000 and Grubbs’ at $79,000.
