Vaughn believes our students should be prepared for college or the work force at the time of high school graduation, and he is concerned about the large dropout rate. A high dropout rate goes hand-in-hand with a high crime rate. Vaughn has a plan to reduce the dropout rate that has proven successful in schools across America.
Vaughn plans to open regular and cooperative lines of communication with the Anniston Board of Education to find and implement improvements. He wants to see students actively engaged in their education. He also wants to see that career-minded students have access to vocational training that prepares them for the local work force and that college-bound students have greater access to advanced course offerings.
