The event was titled “The Horse Whisperer.” The horse represented individuals who were lost, and the trainer led them to trust, obey and believe. At the end of this program there was a drawing for a girl’s and a boy’s bicycle, which were donated by Calhoun County Commissioner Eli Henderson and Toby Burt.
Pastor Roy Cordle asked for someone not affiliated with the church to draw the winning tickets. A lady from out of the state came forward and drew a ticket and a fine young boy jumped cheerfully as he received his bike. The lady drew another ticket for the girl’s bike and the boy’s sister won. This was the Lord’s blessing. The grandmother had brought her grandkids to enjoy the festivities and participate in a good Christian fellowship event. Their mother works many hours and had been trying so hard to buy these children new bicycles. Once again, the Lord has provided.
I want to thank Jesus Christ, the Rev. Cordle, former pastor Larry Riddle, who cooked funnel cakes, and the church members who worked so hard to make this event so special.
Oh, by the way, both children signed up for Vacation Bible School.
