Thank you for writing the editorial about Anniston City Councilman Ben Little. It is true, to a great extent, with the exception that you should have asked Little to issue an apology to the Indians for the slur that he quoted in a recent article about ownership of the former Fort McClellan property.
I am proudly married to a woman who is a descendant of Native American heritage. Little’s comment was taken as a slur and should be recognized as such by local Native Americans. If I, or my wife, spoke as African-Americans do this day and time, Little would be highly offended and in turn call us bigots (which we are not). Is he in fact “absent from reality” by making such comments before he thinks? I believe he is.
