Calvin Dwight Ware, 21, of Detroit has been charged with six felonies, including four counts of discharging a firearm into a vehicle and two counts of burglary.
Anniston police were able to serve a warrant for Ware’s arrest after receiving an anonymous tip the man was hiding at an apartment on Rocky Hollow Road, according to Sgt. Josh Doggrell.
A press release from the department said the Calhoun County Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force assisted in locating Ware, who was arrested after a short standoff with police.
Police believe Ware is responsible for a series of shootings at Norwood Homes on 29th Street on June 17 in which two apartments and five cars were fired at causing more than $2,000 in damage.
Sgt. Josh Doggrell said Anniston police had not determined motive for the shootings.
Ware was being held at the Anniston City Jail this morning awaiting transportation to the Calhoun County Jail.
