Now that the natural gas industry is threatening our community with the possible drilling in the Talladega National Forest, you might better understand the president’s reluctance to give his blessing to the Canadian pipeline.

That pipeline would destroy the water supply in some northern states. There won’t be spigots, we’ll get none of it. The gas industry will send it to the Gulf to load on tankers to sell on the international market.

Mitt Romney says he’ll build it if he has to build it himself. In other words, he will make good his commitment to the gas industry, which is a major contributor. He absolutely will do that to our community, too.

He thinks we are yokels. When he came to the South, he didn’t talk policy, he made stupid remarks about “cheesy grits.”
